Lila

Animated film for children about imagination

What would life be without the power of imagination? A film to inspire children to draw.

Synopsis

Lila, a dreamy young girl, uses her imagination and her drawings to change the course of things.

Film commentary: Lila

And if our drawings could change the course of things. An unusual and poetic interruption in the real world. Something to dream about for young and old alike. A beautiful idea about the power of imagination and a perfect production. A must-see. Have fun with your students from kindergarten onwards imagining and drawing new situations.

"The great artists are those who impose their own particular illusion on humanity."
Pierre et Jean, Guy de Maupassan (1850-1893)

."

Poem on the Lisbon disaster, Voltaire (1694-1778)

1 How isthis film visually different from traditional animated films?
It is a short film shot with a camera (live action) with drawings integrated into the images. This technique is called compositing and consists of mixing several sources of images to make a single shot
2 Who is the main character and what is she holding in her hands at second 53?
She is a young woman holding a sketchbook.
3 What is the young woman drawing and what is she doing with her drawing at 2:05?
She is drawing the table at which the couple is sitting, but she is not drawing the woman in the couple. She is superimposing the drawing onto reality and, in this way, creating the illusion that the woman is no longer in the scene.
4 What happens when she places her drawing of a helmet on the man's head at 2:30?
It looksas if the man is feeling something, as if the helmet is really on his head.
5 What happens when she draws a young woman kissing the young man at 3:19?
It looksas if the young man really got the kiss.Perhaps she has magical powers?
6 From 5:32 onwards, what happens when she draws complete sets?
She redraws the whole city to make it look the way she wants.
7 Who arethe people in the photograph she is looking at at 7:32?

It looks like a photograph of her parents and herself as a little girl.
8 What does she do from then on and why?
She starts drawing herself and her family in order to recall childhood memories.
