Film commentary: Giant sun
An original and very amusing idea that will make children laugh a lot.The authors use personification as a figure of speech and attribute human properties to an inanimate thing.
Many films use this figure of speech and French poetry is full of wonderful examples.

Understand the story, the theme, express your sensibility and exercise your critical thinking.1 Describe the scene at the beginning of the film.List the different elements.
A mountain, a town, the sun and, perhaps, a ray of sunshine.
2 The sun wants to get his ray back but why does he have difficulty?
He does not want to wake the inhabitants of the town because it is night and he does not have to get up for several hours.
3 What are the ways in which he is going to try to get his ray back?
Firstly,he tries surreptitiously, then by going around the town and finally with a sort of huge hat.
4 What do the changes in sound symbolise when the sun tries to get his ray back?
The cars and the whole town wake up every time.
5 What happens with the hat and why?
The hat catches fire because the surface of the sun is extremely hot.The sun is a star in which thermal reactions take place (exothermic thermonuclear reactions).
6 In your opinion, do sunbeams really exist?
No, it is actually light that we perceive as rays when there is a contrast with shadows. (Light rays in clouds, or through a window.
7 Describe the punchline of the film.
The sun, decidedly clumsy, falls on the city and sets it on fire.
