Film commentary: Oru Burus
A disobedient Sun, a very original idea. Like the despot Charles V-and-three-are-eight-and-eight-are-sixteen from the film The King and the Bird (1980), the king does as he pleases and does not accept that the sun remains awake. The final scene may bring to mind the film Journey to the Moon (1902) by Georges Méliès.
Drawings by Georges Méliès commissioned by Henri Langlois in 1937, Cinémathèque Française.
