A film for cycling enthusiasts and those nostalgic for the early Tours de France. The story is reminiscent of the real-life misadventure of French cyclist Eugène Christophe during the descent of the Tourmalet pass in the 1913 Tour de France. Eugène Christophe broke the fork of his bicycle and walked 14 kilometres before finding a forge to carry out the repair alone, as required by the Tour regulations.
The hero's long moustaches are also a reflection of Eugène Christophe, nicknamed "the Old Gaul".
The Col du Tourmalet, located at an altitude of 2115 metres in the Hautes-Pyrénées department, is the most climbed pass in the history of the Tour de France, and will be present again on the 19th stage of the 2018 Tour, Lourdes-Laruns.
