Promoting quality cinema for young audiences
As producers and directors of animated films ourselves, our work has led us to take a keen interest in films and short films for young audiences. Do children have a say in what they watch?
With an international vocation, the association Films pour enfants — governed by the French law of 1 July 1901 — aims to offer children around the world access to auteur animation in an educational context. The association helps increase the visibility of auteur films that fall outside traditional distribution channels, particularly through the organisation of online screenings.

According to UNESCO, «universal access to quality education contributes to peace, and to sustainable social and economic development. OER represent a strategic opportunity to improve the quality of education and to promote policy dialogue, knowledge sharing and capacity building.»
The association offers free access to poetic films for family viewing, with the aim of introducing children to artistic practices.
Children are invited to watch the films on the films-pour-enfants.com portal at home with their parents and to work in class with their teachers on understanding the story and the messages, as well as on film genres, narrative forms, creative processes and image production techniques.
A tool for media literacy — to develop critical thinking, a film culture, an artistic practice and to discover new careers.
A tool for learning through images — to address, with a cross-curricular approach, other areas of learning (living world, citizenship...), and across media, different modes of expression (literature, painting, music...). Links to literary, pictorial or musical works open up further avenues.
