チャールズ・ディケンズの長編小説荒涼館の主人公エスター・サマソン。彼女はとても親切で謙虚。彼女の善良さには感動してしまう。
2- もっとも怖かった架空のキャラクターは?
きっとイギリスの子ども達はみんなケン・ヒューズ監督の映画チキ・チキ・バン・バンに出てくる悪い男爵が特別に心に残っていると思う。彼の怖い顔や網で子どもを捕まえることや恐ろしい歌が本当に不気味でした。それは私にとってハーメルンの笛吹き男のように、魅力的でもあり恐怖でもあります。
3- １番会ってみたい架空の人物は?
ドラゴンや異星人。食べられたくはないから、優しいドラゴンか異星人で。
4- 生まれ変わってみたい架空の人物は?
生まれ変わりたいと思ったことがないです。でも強いて誰かと言われたら、ジョン・H・ワトスンのような人がいいです。シャーロック・ホームズの後を笑いながら走り回ります。
5- 住んでみたい架空の世界は?
奇妙で素晴らしいテリー・プラチェットのディスクワールド。 または、宮崎駿の世界のどこか。

たぶんジェダイの騎士。目新しくはないが、7歳だった私には忘れられない。

1-The fictional character you have most been touched by ?
Esther Summerson in Charles Dicken’s book Bleak House is a wonderful character. She’s so generous hearted, so humble and so kind. It’s impossible not to be impressed by her simple goodness.
2-The fictional character you have most been scared by ?
I think there’s a special place in every British child’s heart for the Child Catcher from the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. He was so creepy with his weird face, child catching net and horrible song. He’s like a version of the Pied Piper of Hamlin – who I’ve also found fascinating and terrifying.
3-The fictional character you would most like to meet ?
It would have to be someone like a dragon or an alien. Someone really different yet sentient. A friendly dragon or alien obviously. I wouldn’t want to be eaten or zapped.
4-The fictional character you would most like to be reincarnated as (^_^) ?
I wouldn’t want to be reincarnated as anyone I don’t think. If you forced me to choose it would probably be someone like Dr Watson. Running around after Sherlock Holmes sounds like fun.
5-The fictional world you would most like to live in ?
Terry Pratchett’s Disc World is a bizarre and wonderful place. Also anything my Hayao Miyazaki.

1984. George Orwell.
7-The role you would most like to have from a fictional work ?
Probably a Jedi Knight. Not very original, but there you are. The seven year old boy in me hasn’t got over that.

Star Wars. Narnia. Middle Earth. They were all there.
